The American folk rock band known for such hits as “Morning Song” and “Figure of Speech” will return to Columbia for a two night engagement in April 2018. The North Carolina-based band is made up of brothers Scott and Seth Avett, bass player Bob Crawford and cellist Joe Kwon.

The band is defined by their ability to blend bluegrass, country, punk and pop that has been described by the San Francisco Chronicle as having the “heavy sadness of Townes Van Zandt, the light pop concision of Buddy Holly, the tuneful jangle of the Beatles and the raw energy of the Ramones.”

The last time the Avett Brothers played in Columbia was March of 2015. Songs from that show were included in their “Live Vol. Four” album released on Dec. 18, 2015.

Tickets for the concert go on sale Thursday, October 26 at 10 a.m.
