USC-Furman history
Today, we start to look ahead to the game between the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and the Paladins of Furman University.
The Gamecocks come into the game with a 2-0 record on the year, while the Paladins have only played one game, a 45-15 win over Colgate University.
The Gamecocks are 26-20-1 all-time against the Paladins, with their last meeting ending in victory for Furman by a score of 28-23 in the 1982 game.
Prior to that loss, the Gamecocks won 11-straight meetings between the two schools dating back to Rex Enright’s fourth year as the Gamecocks head coach in 1949. In those 11 victories, South Carolina outscored Furman by a combined score of 320-75.
Here is a look at the last five games played between the Gamecocks and Paladins. Included are: the date the game was played, the score of the game, where the game was played, and USC’s final record at the end of the year.
