Where Clemson football is ranked in the first major poll of 2018
The first major college football poll for the 2018 season was released on Thursday, and as expected Clemson is in the top 5.
The Tigers are ranked No. 2 in the USA Today coaches poll, behind only No. 1 Alabama.
The rest of the top five includes No. 3 Ohio State, No. 4 Georgia and No. 5 Oklahoma.
Clemson has also been ranked in the top five of several other preseason polls.
Sporting News has Clemson ranked No. 2 behind Alabama, while ESPN also has Alabama No. 1 and Clemson No. 2 in its preseason power rankings.
Athlon also has Alabama No. 1 and Clemson No. 2.
