Coroner releases autopsy results for Irmo man found dead in Lexington County pond
An Irmo man died Sunday after being found in a local pond, according to a statement from Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.
Tao Gao, 42, was pulled from a pond on the 100 block of Pale Ivy Lane by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department’s dive team. The team found Gao at about 3:30 p.m., according to the statement.
Gao’s cause of death was ruled a drowning, according to the statement. Officials do not suspect foul play.
Irmo police are still investigating the case.
