Richland deputies investigating alleged armed robbery near Irmo
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an alleged armed robbery that happened Saturday just before noon.
The Sheriff’s department said it was dispatched to the 700 block of Zimalcrest Drive around 11:45 a.m. when an armed robbery was called in.
The reported robbery took place at The Grove at St. Andrews apartments where residents said they were asked to clear buildings, according to WIS’s Jenna Cisneros. An ambulance and about 10 other sheriff’s vehicles were on the scene.
“Deputies are currently on scene and assessing the situation. The investigation is on-going,” Richland County Sheriff’s Department said.
