Richland County Fire Marshals investigating cause of commercial warehouse fire

Richland County Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out early Tuesday morning at a Columbia warehouse, according to fire officials.

Columbia Fire Department spokesman Brick Lewis said firefighters were dispatched to 10 Mauney Court off Shop Road at 6 a.m. in reference to a commercial fire. When firefighters arrived, they observed heavy smoke coming from a large warehouse that is owned by Trinity ERD Labs, a consulting and engineering firm.

Lewis said firefighters made entry in the warehouse by cutting into roll-up doors, which also helped ventilate the building. Firefighters located the fire and were able to extinguish the fire in a few minutes. Firefighters remained on scene, however, to ventilate the building of the heavy smoke that was created by the fire.

Lewis said Richland County Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of the fire. A damage estimate has not yet been determined. There were no injuries reported.
