Hazardous weather outlook for Richland County Tuesday, clear weather for rest of week

A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for Richland and several other counties in the Midlands Tuesday afternoon by the National Weather Service.

The weather service predicted temperatures are likely to reach a high of 89 degrees with a 60 percent chance of precipitation beginning after 2 p.m. Weather data suggests that about a quarter to half of an inch of rain could fall.

The rain could result in localized flooding throughout the day into the night. A few thunderstorms could generate damaging wind in Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The chance of thunderstorms remains 60 percent until 7 p.m. Tuesday night, when the low drops to around 74 degrees.

The rest of the week looks sunny and clear starting with a high of 92 Wednesday and a low around 70.
