Elections to fill posts in Cayce, Lexington 4

Voters go to the polls in separate elections Tuesday to fill vacancies on Cayce City Council and the Lexington 4 School Board.

In Cayce, voters in District 4 will pick from among former Lexington 2 School Board member Phil Carter, business executive and music teacher Alex Mowery and city Planning Commission member John Raley.

The winner will serve three years representing an area on the south side of the city of 13,000 residents.

In Lexington 4, voters will choose between former board member Shelia Parkman and tax preparation service operator Doris Simmons. The winner will serve two years helping oversee schools in the Gaston-Swansea area.

Both races are nonpartisan.
