Wednesday

6 to 11 p.m. “Opening Night Party.” Boyd Plaza at Columbia Museum of Art, 1515 Main St. Free. Live music by Charlotte-based Hectorina, curated pop-up cinema in the Mini-Cine, a recycled shipping container, and more.

Thursday

6 to 9 p.m. “Future Perfect.” Visual art work installed in venues in the 1500 and 1600 blocks of Main Street. The event kicks off at Tapp’s Arts Center, 1644 Main St., where several walking tours launch.

8 p.m. Fork & Spoon Records celebrates 50th anniversary at Music Farm, 1022 Senate St., with an artist showcase including Valley Maker, Elvis Depressedly, Bombadil, Can’t Kids, Say Brother, William Starr Busbee and Southern Femisphere.

Friday

Noon to 6 p.m. “Indie Bits Showcase.” Play indie video games at Tapp’s Art Center in the Skyline Room. Free.

6 to 8 p.m. “Failure as a Practice.” Indie Bits keynote address from an industry insider.

7 to 8:30 p.m. “Spork in Hand Puppet Slam.” Adults-only puppet show at 1216 Taylor St. that with talented puppeteers performing alongside the Slam’s creators and Columbia’s very own Belle et Bete, also known as Lyon Hill and Kimi Maeda. Note: Entrance is down the alley, in rear of building.

9 p.m. “Toby Lou’s Weekly Revue.” New Orleans variety show at the Big Apple, 1000 Hampton St.

11 p.m. to 5 a.m. All-night taco party at The Whig, 1200 Main St.

Saturday

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. “Kindie Grits.” The South Carolina Governor’s School of Arts and Humanities welcomes kids and families to Tapp’s Art Center, 1644 Main St., to use magazines, glitter and other crafty tools to animate directly onto a 16-mm reel and play it all back on a projector at the end of the day. Led by animation expert and Indie Grits alumnus Kelly Gallagher.

11 a.m. to 5 p.m. “Hip Hop Family Day.” Family-friendly music and activities rooted in hip hop culture: its story, importance and ability to empower listeners of all ages. On the 1700 Block of Main Street.

1 to 3 p.m. “Indie Bits Showcase” continues at the Skyline Room, Tapp’s Arts Center, 1644 Main St.

7 p.m. “Spork in Hand Puppet Slam.” 1216 Taylor St.

10 p.m. to 1 a.m. “Indie Grits Closing Party.” Music by Mechanical River and Infinitikiss, 1216 Taylor St.

Sunday

3-6 p.m. Slow Food at Indie Grits brings the best chefs in Columbia together to prepare dishes that feature local, sustainable ingredients at 701 Whaley.

Indie Grits will screen winning films throughout the afternoon at The Nickelodeon Theatre, 1607 Main St.
