Among events announced so far, all open to the public. All are free unless otherwise noted.
Feb 2: 2016 Author Carla Damron will discuss her novel. 7-8 p.m. Irmo Branch Library, Lexington Co Public Library, 6251 St. Andrews Road.
Feb 4: “Off Page – Photography” exhibition, featuring work of three photographers – Rob Coffey, Thomas Hammond, and Kristine Hartvigsen – on the One Book, One Community selection. Damron and audiobook narrator Vicky Saye Henderson will sign books. 7 p.m. Tapp’s Arts Center, 1644 Main St, Columbia.
Feb 5: Book signing with Damron. 5:30-7 p.m. Gallery West, 134 State St., West Columbia.
Feb 9: Damron will be joined by fellow Story River Books writers, all with USC connections – Ellen Malphrus (”Untying the Moon”), Eric Morris (”Jacob Jump”), and John Mark Sibley-Jones (”By the Red Glare”). 6-7:30 p.m. Hollings Program Room, University of South Carolina Thomas Cooper Library.
Feb 11: Henderson will lead an empathy-themed improv workshop drawn from the characters, scenes, and themes of “The Stone Necklace.” 7 p.m. Tapp’s Arts Center, 1644 Main St, Columbia.
Feb 12: Book signing Damron. Noon-2 p.m. Uptown Gifts (1204 Main St, Columbia).
Feb 13: Damron and fellow Story River Books writer Morris will give readings from their new novels. 2-4 p.m. Books on Broad, 944 Broad St, Camden.
Feb 16: Book signing with Damron. 6:30-8 p.m. Barnes & Noble at Richland Mall, 3400 Forest Drive.
Feb. 18-Feb 21: Deckle Edge Literary Festival. Closing event Feb. 21 will feature Damron and Henderson discussing “The Stone Necklace,” moderated by novelist Ashley Warlick.
Feb 23: Damron will discuss her book. 6-7 p.m. at Cayce-West Columbia Branch Library, Lexington County Public Library, 1500 Augusta Road.
Feb 27: Damron will sign books. Noon-2 p.m. at Books-a-Million, Village at Sandhill, 164 Forum Drive, Northeast Richland.
Feb 28: Artist Mana Hewitt will lead a jewelry-making class inspired by “The Stone Necklace.” Damron will discuss the importance of the necklace to her book. 2-5 p.m. at Gallery West, 134 State St, West Columbia.
March 2: Damron and Henderson discuss the novel. Noon–1 p.m. at South Carolina Center for the Book at the South Carolina State Library, 1500 Senate St, Columbia.
March 3: Damron will discuss her book. 6:30 p.m. at Richland Library Main, Film & Sound Department, 1431 Assembly St.
