A Knight of Honor: Heroes in Blue, a nonprofit committed to promoting community and police relations, honors law enforcement and citizen heroes from across the Midlands with a medieval-themed feast provided by Rosso Trattoria with beer from Craft and Draft. One officer will receive the Officer Gregory Alia Award for compassionate, selfless acts of service, and one citizen will receive the Citizen Hero Award to be presented by Marcus Lattimore. Dress is medieval-themed or cocktail attire. Entertainment by Syr, a local Celtic band, and court jester Emile DeFelice. Bistro lunches: 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. weekdays at McCutchen House. The University of South Carolina’s historic McCutchen House on the Horseshoe is open for lunch during fall and spring semesters (except breaks and holidays). New & noteworthy
Alodia’s Cucina Italiana: The owners will be bringing one of the first new restaurants to the town of Lexington as a byproduct of the town’s new vision plan and completion of Project Icehouse Amphitheater.
Alodia’s will open its new location at on the first floor of the Shirey’s Building at 101 W. Main St. No opening date has been set.
El Jimador Mexican Restaurant: This new eatery will open at 5343 Sunset Blvd. in the space recently home to Compton’s Kitchen. Compton’s Kitchen opened in the space in 2013 and closed this summer. The original Compton’s Kitchen on B Avenue in West Columbia is still in operation.
The Sunset Boulevard address will be the second in Lexington for El Jimador, which opened earlier this year in the Scarborough Plaza Shopping Center on Augusta Highway near Lexington High School. No opening date has been set yet for the Sunset Boulevard location.
Laser tag arena: This fall, Plex HiWire Family Fun and Sports Center at Village at Sandhill, Two Notch and Clemson roads in Northeast Richland, will open a two-story Plex Extreme Laser Tag Arena. It will have 4,000 feet of 3-D murals, black lights and industrial props that will create an interactive maze leading patrons through the futuristic-themed space on a mission to an 18-foot tower that is home to “the Evil Guardian of the Universe.”
