City Roots Farm starts weekly farmers market

Columbia’s only urban farm becomes a venue for a new farmers market beginning Thursday, Oct. 20. Each week, 4-7 p.m., there will be tastings, live acoustic music and farm tours. Scheduled vendors will include:

City Roots: microgreens and seasonal vegetables

Wil-Moore Farms: chicken, lamb, pasture-raised pork, free range eggs

Happy Cow Creamery: butter, milk and cheese

The Congaree Milling Company: local ground white, yellow and blue corn grits, flour, cornmeal, polenta and hominy

Gin’s Juice: fresh juice blends

Sassafras Bee and Honey Farm: local pure, raw honey from Lexington

Heather’s Artisan Bakery: fresh artisan breads and baked goods

Trail Ridge Farm and Grade A Goat Dairy: goat cheeses (chevre, feta)

River Rat Brewery: craft beer and wine

Farm to Table Event Company: food tastings
