Popular Rosewood hangout officially re-opens

According to a Facebook post, The Kraken Gastropub on Rosewood will be hosting the bar’s official grand re-opening party on Jan. 27.

The (re)Releasing the Kraken! party will feature a Cottontown Brew Lab takeover with a special new brew, specially priced food items from the Kraken menu, giveaways and live music.

In July of 2017 the Kraken closed for “necessary maintenance” repairs and stayed closed until November. When the doors opened in mid-November, service was a bit spotty but things seem to have worked out. There are some new regional craft beers circulating through the taps and open mic nights will be coming back in February.

Owner Aaron Klugh said in an earlier interview that the Kraken’s basic menu hasn’t changed, but you can look forward to nightly specials. Great news for those who crave that rich lobster grilled cheese, poutine and, of course, the sriacha peanut butter glazed doughnut!
