Columbia restaurant opening new location in Forest Acres

A locally-owned restaurant is opening its third Columbia-area location in just less than two years.

Freshe Poke is promoting its new Forest Acres location, set to open this summer, according to the restaurant’s website.

The Hawaiian seafood restaurant is set to open at 4903 Forest Drive, the location of the former Corma’s Inc. Health Food Store.

Freshe Poke opened its first location on Huger Street in December 2017. It expanded to a spot on Harbison Boulevard last May.

Poke — it’s pronounced “poh-kay” — is the latest food craze, combining sushi-like raw fish with a salad-bowl presentation. The traditional Hawaiian dish consists of bowls of cubed raw fish tossed in a variety of seasonings mixed with greens, rice, fruits and/or vegetables.
