A new burrito restaurant has opened its doors just off of busy Harbison Boulevard in Columbia.

Per posts on its business Facebook page, Uberrito opened Nov. 9 at 275 Park Terrace Dr., suite 800, near the Guitar Center and across the street from Sam’s Club. This is the first South Carolina location of the chain that offers fresh Mexican food. The chain has other locations in Houston, Humble and Katy, Texas.

Uberrito specializes in, of course, burritos, but also offers bowls, salads, nachos and more.

“We go above and beyond the burrito to a land of fresh ingredients and unexpected flavor combinations,” the company says on its website. “Created in our own kitchens, these tastes include fresh, house-made salsas and chips, guacamole, and even our own special marinades for meats. From Cuban to Cajun, Mexican to American, we have something to satisfy every appetite or portion size, whether you’re a meat lover or a vegan.”

Columbia’s Uberrito picked up notice on the recent city election campaign trail. Dr. Aditi Bussells, who recently won an at-large seat on Columbia City Council, visited Uberrito and documented it on her campaign Facebook page.

“I loved talking with co-owner Ricky Patel, who convinced the Texas-based franchise to choose Columbia as their first out of state location,” Bussells posted. “Ricky believes in our city’s future and the immense potential it holds for hardworking families.”

You can check out the Uberrito menu at uberrito.com. The Columbia location can be reached at (803) 851-7100.
