A well-known fast food chain has opened a new location in a rural part of Lexington County.

Hardee’s, which is famed for breakfast biscuits and burgers, recently opened the doors on a new restaurant at 8039 Edmund Highway in Pelion. That’s just south of Fort Ponds Elementary School and just north of the Pelion branch of the Lexington County Library.

The restaurant has drive-thru service and dining room seating for 40 people, according to a release from Boddie-Noell enterprises, which is the operator of the location. The Pelion restaurant has a “retro” design, mixing elements of a classic Hardee’s look with modern touches such as digital menu boards. It’s open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Hardee’s has lunch offerings including burgers, chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches and more. But the restaurant has long been perhaps best known for its breakfast, with a wide variety of biscuit sandwiches and other morning-time goodies.

There are more than 1,500 Hardee’s locations across the U.S., mostly in the eastern half of the nation, per data website ScrapeHero. Boddie-Noel is the largest franchisee of Hardee’s in the U.S., operating more than 320 of the locations.
