Special contests this year include a team Pumpkin Decorating contest and the King Arthur Flour Baking Contest.

Columbia Food Tours, owned by Kristin and Brian Cole, takes you on a walking tour of downtown Columbia to experience the culture and cuisine of the Capital City. A three-ring culinary circus: Asheville (N.C.) Wine & Food Festival, Aug. 20-22. The event opens with Elixir on Aug. 20, a competition between chefs and mixologists.
