Diners looking for a burrito fix along a busy stretch in Lexington have another option once again.

Diablo’s Southwest Grill officially reopened on April 19 at 5541 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington. It had been closed since Aug. 2025, with the restaurant noting on social media last summer that it was “taking a well-needed break” and that a buyer was being sought for the franchise location of the regional burrito chain.

Now it’s back in action.

“(Sunday) was our very first day open and Diablo’s Lexington just had the highest sales day of ANY Diablo’s location,” the restaurant posted Sunday night on Facebook. “We shared (Sunday) morning that we were open and Lexington came running. We did not have a big launch campaign. We did not do a huge announcement. We just opened our doors and you all showed up.

“That is not normal. That is a community choosing to love something, and we do not take that lightly.”

The restaurant said on Facebook that it will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Diablo’s Southwest Grill has locations in South Carolina and Georgia, according to its website. The menu includes burritos, nachos, tacos, quesadillas and more.

Diablo’s in Lexington is in a high-traffic retail corridor along Sunset Boulevard. Nearby businesses include a Walmart, a Chick-fil-A, a Starbucks and many other retailers. About 35,000 cars per day travel down that stretch of Sunset Boulevard, according to state Department of Transportation statistics.
