A new spot for acai bowls and blended drinks with fresh fruit has debuted in a busy area of Lexington.

Palm Berries, a growing chain, opened its doors on April 11 at 5140 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington. That’s in the Palmetto Plaza shopping center that also is home to Clara & Ray’s Italian restaurant and a number of other businesses. It’s across the road from a shopping center anchored by Target.

This marks the first South Carolina location for Palm Berries, which has a number of locations in North Carolina and Virginia. The first location was in Denver, N.C.

The menu at Palm Berries includes a host of signature and build-your-own acai bowls. That includes, among others, the Sunset Bowl, which comes with a blend of organic acai, pineapple, mango and banana and is topped with pineapple, kiwi, mango, coconut flakes and goji berries, then drizzled with honey.

The restaurant also has a roster of smoothies, including the Horizon, which is a blend of passion fruit, mango, pineapples, bananas and coconut milk.

Palm Berries is located along a bustling commercial corridor in Lexington lined with stores, restaurants and other businesses. More than 45,000 cars per day travel down Sunset Boulevard, per state Department of Transportation statistics, making it one of the busiests non-interstate roadways in the Midlands.
