If you are looking for sandwiches, hot dogs, ice cream and other treats, you’re in luck in West Columbia.
Key Deli & Ice Cream Shop officially had its grand opening on July 1, as noted on the restaurant’s social media. Key Deli is located at 1505 Charleston Hwy., Suite E2 in West Columbia. That’s in the Granby Village shopping center that is home to the Golden Chopstix Vietnamese restaurant and the Mi Tierra de Maiz Latin restaurant, among a number of other businesses.
Key Deli & Ice Cream Shop is owned by Kechia Bass, according to the restaurant’s website. Bass also is the owner of Key Insurance & Tax Services, which also is located in the Granby Village shopping plaza.
“With a passion for bringing people together through great food, she opened Key Deli & Ice Cream Shop to create a welcoming place where families, friends and neighbors can enjoy fresh food and sweet treats,” the Key Deli website notes.
The menu at Key Deli includes a host of hot and cold sandwiches and wraps. Among them is BJ’s BBQ Chicken Melt, which comes with grilled chicken, barbecue sauce, cheddar cheese and crispy onions. There’s also the Granby Club, which has ham, turkey, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo.
The deli also offers salads, hot dogs, chili dogs, Polish sausages, grilled cheese sandwiches and more, plus a host of ice cream flavors that are available in cups, traditional cones and waffle cones.
The new restaurant is located along West Columbia’s busy Charleston Highway that is lined with a host of commercial businesses. About 24,000 cars per day travel along that stretch of the highway, per state Department of Transportation data.
