Downtown Columbia Japanese restaurant permanently closes doors
If you still want a taste of Takosushi, you’ll have to leave Columbia.
Takosushi, a 7-location chain with a presence in South Carolina and the Augusta area, pitches itself as a “Far East Southwest” fusion, offering a mix of sushi, other Japanese dishes, salads, soups and Southwestern staples like tacos and burritos.
The chain announced in a July 9 social media post that its 1332 Main Street, Columbia restaurant was permanently closing at the end of the day.
The closure comes after months after the October shutdown of Takosushi’s Forest Acres location, reducing the chain’s Midlands footprint from three to just one at 102 West Main Street in Lexington.
