Ag+Art Tour seeking farms to participate in June program

The date for the South Carolina Ag+Art Tour is set for weekends in June, with an official event hosted by Lancaster/York Counties on June 11 and 12. The tour is a free self-guided tour of farms featuring local artisans and farmers markets. Visitors will have the opportunity to see where their food comes from, watch artists in action, purchase something special and learn more about rural life.

Tour hours will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturdays and 1-5 p.m. Sundays in June. Each weekend will highlight farms in various counties: June 4-5, Horry, Chesterfield and Darlington; June 11-12, Lancaster and York; June 18-19, Fairfield and Kershaw; June 25-26, Chester and Union.

The farm recruitment site has been set up at www.agandarttour.com/farms and has information about the tour, county chairperson contact information and a link to the online Google-doc application. There is no fee to participate as a farm site. Deadline for interested farm sites to apply is 5 p.m. Feb. 12.
