National Library Week is April 10-16 and the South Carolina State Library will celebrate by hosting a Literary Cake Decorating Contest.

Anyone interested in participating should register online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CakeContest2016. Participants may submit cakes decorated to represent a character from a favorite book, favorite children’s book cover or anything else book-related.

Cakes should be dropped off 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at the State Library, 1500 Senate Street. Library visitors may vote for their favorite cake 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Votes will be tallied and winners will be announced around 1 p.m. The cakes will then be cut and served.

Winners will receive prizes and photos of winning entries will be posted online at the State Library website and on social media.

Interested? Call Dr. Curtis R. Rogers, (803)734-8928 or crogers@statelibrary.sc.gov for questions.
