Celebrity chef Paula Deen coming to Columbia

Celebrity chef and cookbook author Paula Deen is coming to Columbia next week for a signing of her latest cookbook.

Deen will be appear at 7 p.m. May 4 at the Barnes & Noble bookstore at Richland Mall to sign copies of “Paula Deen Cuts the Fat: 250 Favorite Recipes All Lightened Up.”

The new cookbook has lighter versions of 50 of Deen’s favorite recipes and an additional 200 new, healthier recipes that use “low-fat cream cheese, Greek yogurt, and about a third less butter and other fats,” according to Deen.

On her website, Deen is quoted as saying, “everything Mama and Grandmama Paul taught me about baking is still there, along with a little modern wisdom. With my recipes, everyone can create scrumptious and healthy Southern home-style meals.”
