Columbia woman wins Southern Peanut Growers ‘PB My Way’ snack time recipe contest

Winners have been announced in the Southern Peanut Growers’ annual “PB My Way” recipe contest, and Columbian Mary Leverette won the Snack Time category with her recipe for Creamy PB Banana Popsicles. Her winning entry is described as “Smooth and sweet, these dreamy popsicles are the perfect melt-in-your-mouth treat on a hot summer day.”

As a category winner, Leverette will receive a box of newly released and classic peanut butter products.

The Southern Peanut Growers is a nonprofit trade association representing peanut farmers in Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi, dedicated to educating American consumers about the U.S. peanut industry and their products.

Creamy PB Banana Popsicles

Serves 12

4 large very ripe bananas

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

12 ounces frozen whipped dessert topping

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Pour into popsicle molds. Freeze until firm.
