Flying Saucer is made famous not only by its selection of more than 200 global and domestic beers but its “U.F.O. Club,” which tracks the beers patrons try, with prizes along the way. Once these “beerknurds,” as they’re called, reach 200 different beers, they get their names on a brass plate in the Ring of Honor.
“We founded Flying Saucer in 1995 because we love craft beer and wanted to spread the good word,” said Keith Schlabs, who co-founded Flying Saucer with Larry Richardson and Shannon Wynne. “We love what we do, and it’s great to be recognized for helping introduce more people to quality craft beer.”
One of the 16 locations can be found in The Vista, where it’s been serving the Columbia community for more than two decades. There are more than 81 beers on tap and more than 900 commemorative plates lining the ceilings and walls.
