The Palmetto Center for Women’s quarterly Women Linking Women meeting today, Thursday, Aug. 4, will include a Tasting Table showcasing local female chefs and a healthy cooking demonstration by USC’s Patricia Moore-Pastides. This networking event recognizes the power of female leadership in the community and is a forum for women in business and the community to share ideas, opportunities and successes, and support.

Participating chefs include Jessica Shillato of Spotted Salamander, Blythe Kelly of Cellar on Greene, Shennice Cleckley of My Dessert Bar, Erin Nobles of Silver Spoon Bake Shop, Sarah Grace Allen of Momma Rabbit’s Nibbles and Sips, and a wine tasting with Sandy Strick, Director of Graduate Studies at USC’s College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management.

This evening’s event is free but donations will be accepted for PCW’s Ready, Willing & Able program at Transitions Homeless Recovery Center. Ready, Willing & Able is a workforce readiness program that assists homeless women finding employment and achieving self-sufficiency.

Sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, the Women Linking Women Tasting Table will be at McCutchen House on the USC Horseshoe, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Parking is available behind the McCutchen house. Please enter Lot C1 on Pendleton Street between Sumter and Marion Streets. PCW is a branch of the YMCA of Columbia.
