CONGAREE NATIONAL PARK: Nature discovery walk 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Harry Hampton Visitor Center. Learn about plant and animal life in the Congaree River floodplain. Walk is fully accessible to strollers and wheelchairs. Free. (803) 776-4396. nps.gov/cong

RIVERBANKS ZOO AND GARDEN: Backyard Buds: Clouds 10-10:45 a.m. Thursday. Children ages 2-5 can learn about clouds and how they cause rain. Cost is $6 per child with one adult, plus general admission. Register at riverbanks.org. (803) 779-8717
RIVERBANKS ZOO AND GARDEN: Twighlight Trek: Spring Fling 6-10:30 p.m. Friday. Children ages 4 and older and adults can participate in the event celebrating spring. Cost is $30 per person. Dinner and snacks will be provided. REgister at riverbanks.org.
SALUDA SHOALLS PARK: Shuckin’ on the Shoals 4-7 p.m. today, 5605 Bush River Road. Event will feature oysters, hot chili, chicken bog, beer, wine, a silent auction and raffles. Proceeds will benefit the Saluda Shoals Foundation. Tickets for members are $45 per person or $75 per couple and $50 per person and $90 a couple for everyone else.
