Here’s what you missed from last night’s SC reality stars
The year is off to a great start for South Carolina’s current reality stars. In case you need a reminder, the Palmetto State’s newest celebs to grace the small screen are full-time cast members Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave on Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” Codi Butts on MTV’s “Floribama Shore” and Brittany T., a contestant on the new season of ABC’s “The Bachelor.”
Last night “Floribama” aired its finale and Brittany T. rammed her way into bachelor Arie’s heart ... almost literally. If you missed either, here are the (Southern) highlights:
“The Bachelor”
Although two South Carolina belles vyed for Luyendyk’s heart in the season premiere, only Brittany T. – a Columbia native currently residing in Austin, TX (who locked lips with Luyendyk before anyone else) – continued on past the first rose ceremony.
“I’m finally here and finally meeting him,” she said during the premiere. “I’m so happy, so excited and so ready. He’s like a dream come true. It’s crazy how crazy attracted to him I am. I’m never attracted to anybody. And his lips are like pillows. He definitely lived up to his name.”
During the demolition derby date last night, Brittany suffered a mysterious injury, causing her to miss out on the next date. To be fair, she did battle ram everyone else’s cars, including Luyendyk’s. Despite it all, she was given a rose to continue on to compete for Luyendyk’s affections in further episodes.
“Floribama”
Throughout the last three episodes, Codi has “butted” into the center of the house drama. In “Love You Like A Brother,” he told a female roommate (in not-so-nice terms) that even if she was the last person on Earth he wouldn’t copulate with her (but only after she made it perfectly clear that she doesn’t think of him that way).
That drama spilled over into the next episode, “Princess Goddess Mermaid,” during which he apologized for his comments and patched things up with that same roommate, only to end the episode on a sour note by relaying misinformation to a female friend to the house that there was a bet between two of the roommates who could bed her first.
By the next episode, “Drunken Words; Sober Thoughts,” the roommates collectively thought Codi had stirred the pot one too many times. That energy shifted gears moments later when Butts received a call from home saying that his grandfather passed away. The news – and his leaving to tend to the death in his family – got the housemates off his back and on his side.
In last night’s season finale “Snuggle Puddle,” we see Butts briefly back home in Westminster, SC to attend his grandfather’s funeral. Then it was back to Panama City Beach where he and his roommates got trashed together one last time and reminisced on the summer.
But leave it to Butts to end that kind of note. During the sleepover Butts striped down to his signature American speedo and proceeded to twerk for his roommates.
His last words?
“Say what you want. Y’all going to remember my ass!”
“The Bachelor” airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. on ABC.
