Charleston-based Black Bean Co. has closed its Columbia location at 701 Gervais in The Vista. The company was sold to another Charleston company, gogogreens. Both Black Bean Co. and gogogreens specialize in healthier versions of sandwiches and salads and bowls.

Currently, the Charleston location of Black Bean Co., at 429 King Street, operates under a gogogreens management team.

In Columbia, Black Bean Co. opened in April of 2014, during the first expansion efforts in The Vista, and served breakfast, lunch and dinner. No word if gogogreens will open in that location. Efforts to reach out to the corporate office of gogogreens were unsuccessful.
