Cate Simmons, Nick Mongell marry
Catherine Gelene Simmons and Nicholas Peter Mongell, both of Columbia, were united in marriage June 3 at the Millstone at Adams Pond. The Rev. Kevin Roberts officiated the half past 6 o’clock ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of John Steven Simmons of Columbia and Elizabeth Gelene Howard of Decatur, Georgia. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Harold Simmons of Cayce and Mr. and Mrs. Jerrod Franklin Howard of Lexington. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina. She earned her Juris Doctor in May from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Peter Mongell of Destin, Florida. He earned a bachelor’s degree in public health from the University of South Carolina, and he is employed with Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporation.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The groom was given in marriage by his parents.
Matron of honor was Sydney Doomey of Irmo. Maid of honor was Lucy Culpepper of Decatur, Georgia. Bridesmaids were Tamara Boyer of Conway; Elizabeth Tuerk of Jacksonville, Florida; Megan Nasse of Hoboken, New Jersey; Jillian Kral of Charlotte, North Carolina; Graham Byrd of Decatur, Georgia; Abby Frye of Charleston; and Crystal Vickers and Kayla Menger, both of Irmo. Spencer Ann Brazell of Lexington and Caroline Renee Menger of Irmo were flower girls.
Best man was John Tuerk of Jacksonville, Florida. Groomsmen were Chris Mongell, Wesley Harrell, Donti Cook, and Leo Buckle, all of Columbia; Andrew Fowler, Michael Menger, Ryan Doomey, and Andrew Thacker, all of Irmo; and Jerod Culpepper of Decatur, Georgia. William Joesph Wallander of West Palm Beach, Florida, was the ring bearer.
After their honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple will reside in Columbia.
