James Richard Lominick Jr. and Glenda Wise Lominick of Newberry recently celebrated their 55th anniversary. They were married June 10, 1962, at St. James Lutheran Church in Newberry.

Their children hosted a noon luncheon Saturday in their honor at Travinia’s in Lexington with family and close friends.

Richard graduated from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy and, with his late father, owned and operated Lominick’s Drugstore in Newberry for many years. He is now employed part-time at Prosperity Drugstore in Prosperity.

Glenda, an education graduate of Newberry College, was a stay-at-home mom until the children entered high school, when she joined her husband at the drugstore.

Their children are Lynn Lominick (Tony) Dilleshaw of Greenwood and James Richard “Chip” (Sherry) Lominick III of Chapin. They have three grandchildren, Kalli Ashlyn Lominick, Richard McAlister Dilleshaw and Alana Wise Lominick.

The Lominicks especially enjoy spending Summer weekends with their family at their home on Lake Murray.
