Kate Humphries, Gordon Davidson to wed

Judy Bount Humphries and Raymond Donal Humphries Jr. of Columbia are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kate Wallace Humphries, to Ben Gordon Davidson, son of Lynn Polk Davidson and Larry George Davidson of Beaufort.

The bride-elect, a resident of Folly Beach, is the granddaughter of Jean Wallace Blount and the late William H. Blount of Chapin and the late Raymond Donal Humphries and the late Bettie Buff Humphries of Hopkins. A 2004 graduate of the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, she earned a bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology with a minor in vocal performance from Columbia College in 2008. She earned a master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2010. She is employed with the Evelyn Trammell Institute for Voice and Swallowing as a speech-language pathologist and with MUSC’s Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery as a research associate.

The bridegroom-elect, a resident of Folly Beach, is the grandson of Nancy Roberts Davidson and the late Louis Gordon Davidson Jr. of Beaufort and Carol Drumm and Curtis Drumm of Summerville. He graduated from Beaufort Academy in 2001 and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina in media arts in 2005. A member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local 491, he is employed as a lighting technician.

The couple plans a fall wedding in Charleston.
