Megan Smith, Philip Vogel marry
Megan Suzanne Smith and Philip Andrew Vogel, both of Gaston, were united in marriage July 22 at the River Road and Jasmine Houses and Gardens in Columbia. Mr. William A. Pollard officiated the 11 o’clock ceremony.
The bride, daughter of Mr. Richard T. Boone and Mrs. Shannon Essick-Boone of West Columbia, is a graduate of Airport High School and earned a certificate in medical record coding from Midlands Technical College. She is employed with Resource One Medical Billing in Columbia. She is the granddaughter of Mr. John P. and Mrs. Joyce S. Essick of Lexington.
The bridegroom, son of Ms. April Bessinger of West Columbia, is a graduate of Airport High School and is employed with Applebee’s of West Columbia. He is the grandson of Mrs. Barbara Bessinger and the late Mr. Richard Bessinger of West Columbia.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her grandfather, Mr. John P. Essick.
Maid of honor was the bride’s sister Ms. Melanie Kaitlyn Smith of Pelion. Bridesmaids were the bride’s sister Ms. Meredith Ellyn Smith of West Columbia and the bride’s cousin Miss Olivia Alden Essick of Lexington. Best man was the bride’s father. Groomsmen were Mr. William “Billy” Louis Miller of Pelion and Mr. Todd Lever Bolin of Aiken.
The bride’s uncle Mr. John Cory Essick and aunt Mrs. M. Darlene House Essick were greeters. A reception followed at the River Road and Jasmine Houses and Gardens.
After the honeymoon, the couple will reside in Gaston.
