Julia Theus, James Frazier marry
Julia Smith Theus and James Frederick Frazier, both of Charleston, were married on June 24 at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Columbia. Dr. Bradley Donald Smith officiated the 6 o’clock ceremony. Music was provided by organist Louis Lasley Shirer and trumpeter Dr. Randolph DeYo Love.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Harrison Theus of Columbia. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnstone Dana and the late Dr. and Mrs. Walter Wyman Theus, all of Columbia. She graduated from A.C. Flora High School in 2009 and the University of Virginia in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in American government. She is employed with Sabal Homes as a land analyst.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Frazier III of Burlington, North Carolina. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Webb Cheshire Jr. of Burlington and the late Mr. Foster Frederick Cheek Jr. of Kinston, North Carolina, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Frazier Jr. of Salisbury, North Carolina. The groom graduated from Woodberry Forest School in 2009 and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in entrepreneurship from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2013. He is employed with CBRE as a research analyst.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father. Her sisters, Laura Dana Theus and Lilla Theus Colpini, served as maid and matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Caroline Lambert Barrington of Greenville; Elizabeth Binnicker Brown of New Orleans; Laura LeBow Friddell of Atlanta; Phoebe Webster Harris of New York; Elizabeth Whitsett Heintzleman of Indianapolis; Ginny Sims Magrath of Charlotte, North Carolina; Amanda Carson McKinney of Nashville, Tennessee; Katherine Tribble Schwartz of Richmond, Virginia, and Anna Kneece Strauss of Augusta, Georgia.
The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s brother, John Wesley Frazier IV of Burlington; his brother-in-law, Anthony Tyler Colpini of Columbia; Barrett William Deacon and Ross Williams Pope, both of Washington; Paul Russell Hardin of Atlanta; Greg Allison Lunsford II of Orlando, Florida; Patrick Williams Mealy of New York; Matthew Robert Moffitt of Blacksburg, Virginia; Charles deRosset Murray of Carrboro, North Carolina; and James Rosser Powell of Charlottesville, Virginia.
Ushers were Jefferson Wilton Ellington of Charlotte and Charles Jordan Smith of New Orleans.
Guests were greeted by Emily Lucille Curran and Mary Hadley Williams of Washington, Sophia Yasmin Nosseir of New York, and Frances Lynne Timmons of Mount Pleasant.
William Harrison Colpini, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer.
A reception followed at Forest Lake Club.
After a honeymoon trip to Greece, the couple will reside in Charleston.
