Charles and Phyllis Maier celebrate 50th anniversary

Charles A. Maier and Phyllis J. Maier of Columbia will soon celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 22, 1967, at First Baptist Church of Orangeburg.

They have three children – Chuck Maier, Chad Maier and Megan (Michael) Hamilton – and four grandchildren.

On their 20th anniversary, they renewed their vows, then celebrated in Hawaii, where they returned for their 25th anniversary. For their 40th anniversary, a surprise celebration was held at daughter Megan’s home with their immediate family.

A: Orangeburg High School.

Q: What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

A: Marrying the love of my life.

Q: Tell us about a favorite moment in your marriage.

A: The three moments our children were born would have to be our most special.
