Sarah and Ashleigh Brown celebrate 50th anniversary

Sarah and Ashleigh Brown of Irmo are delighted to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 19, 1967.

The couple, college sweethearts, have enjoyed a wonderful 50-year journey. They are the parents of two fine sons, Smokey (L.A.) and Curtis.

Their older son, Smokey, is an attorney in Irmo. He and his wife, Amy, have two children, Courtney and Zachary.

Their younger son, Curtis, an anesthesiologist, and his wife, Alicia, and two children, Xavier and Alexis, live in Blythewood.

After Ashleigh’s career as a State Farm Insurance agent and Sarah’s 30 years as a second-grade teacher, retirement has been a most fulfilling and enjoyable time. Family and precious time spent together is the joy of Sarah and Ashleigh’s lives.

Their golden anniversary was celebrated with a motorcycle trip through the Blue Ridge Mountains and a stay at the Biltmore Inn in Asheville, North Carolina, followed by a special family dinner.
