Art and Edie Baker celebrate 65th anniversary

Arthur Wellington “Art” Baker and Edith Edens “Edie” Baker of Columbia will soon celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 24, 1952, in Dalzell.

They have four children – Artie Baker of Dalzell, Kim Baker of Mount Pleasant, Ryan Baker of Columbia, and Curtis Baker of Bluffton – and four grandchildren – Marshall (Rachel), Taylor, Wellington (Amy), and Austin.

Q: How did you meet?

A: At a theater in Sumter while teenagers.

Q: What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

A: Getting married in Dalzell.
