Clyde and Delores Coleman celebrate 60th anniversary
Clyde J. Coleman Jr. and Delores M. Coleman of Hopkins are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married Sept. 3, 1957, in Richmond, Virginia.
Their children are Cindy, Joey, Tony and the late Mike. They have 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A catered lunch celebration will be at Beulah Baptist Church.
Their children write, “(We) are proud to announce that after 60 years of marriage, our parents are more in love than the day they met. They are a true example that when you put the needs of each other first that even through the bad times, love prevails. The Bible (1 Corinthians 13:4-7) describes love this way: ‘Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice, but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.’ This is true love and the love that Clyde and Delores have and we, their children, are forever grateful for the example they have given us. No matter what, love wins!”
