Charles E. “Chuck” Felkel Jr. and Jean S. Felkel of Lexington recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 19, 1967, at Providence United Methodist Church in the Providence community of Holly Hill.

They have two sons, Chris Felkel and wife Theresa and Kevin Felkel and wife Jennifer, all of Lexington.

Their five grandchildren are Ryan Felkel, Ashton Felkel, Madeleine Felkel, Hayden Felkel and Dylan Darden.

“We had our children and their families join us on Oasis of the Seas for an Eastern Caribbean cruise during the summer in celebration of our golden anniversary,” Jean Felkel writes. “On Aug. 20, we were honored with an anniversary party at the Clubhouse on Pine Island, given by our sons, their wives, and our grandchildren.

“During the summer of 2013, we traveled with a group of friends to tour Israel and reaffirmed our wedding vows in Cana of Galilee in The Wedding Sanctuary, (which) is said to be built on the site where the water-into-wine miracle took place.”
