Tobi and Cecil Hicks celebrate 50th anniversary

Ladella “Tobi” and Cecil Hicks Jr. of Gaston recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

After meeting and falling in love during college, they eloped Nov. 24, 1967, in Tuskegee Alabama.

Their children are son Cecil Hicks and his wife, Nicole Brown, of Omaha, Nebraska. They have two grandchildren, Norah Hicks, 11, and Emerson Hicks, 9.

They will celebrate their anniversary with a trip “somewhere fun” in the spring.
