Bob and Barbra Jones celebrate 65th anniversary

C. Robert “Bob” Jones Jr. and Barbra R. Jones of Columbia recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They were married Nov. 29, 1952, in Sanford, Florida.

Their children are Joy Jones (Bill) Watkins of Blythewood; Sharon Jones (Kevin) King of Huntersville, North Carolina; and Robbie Jones (Rob) Ericson of Media, Pennsylvania. They have four grandchildren, Hunter and Erin Watkins and Nicholas and Wesley King, and one great-grandchild, Natalie King.

Daughter Joy writes that both Bob and Barbra grew up in Sanford. “Bob was friends with Barbra’s older brother. They did not start dating until she was a nursing student at Emory University and he was on leave with the US Army.”

They celebrated with a family dinner at the Wildewood Downs Retirement Community.
