James Manning, Mackenzie Ricard marry
Dr. James Hampton Manning of Latta and Mackenzie Jean Ricard of Gilbert were united in marriage Dec. 9 at Pond Branch United Methodist Church in Gilbert. Pastor Matthew Rucker officiated the 5 o’clock ceremony with John Grainger Hanna directing. A reception followed at 701 Whaley in Columbia.
The bride, escorted by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Steven Ricard of Gilbert. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Daniel Carroll Harmon and the late Mrs. Edith Burkett Harmon of Gilbert, and the late Mr. Eugene Roscoe Ricard and the late Mrs. Madeline Steele Ricard of West Columbia. As a graduate of the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business, she serves as a workforce consultant for the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce in Conway.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Houston Manning of Latta. He is the grandson of Mrs. Marjorie Floyd Manning and the late Mr. James Willis Manning of Latta, Mr. Bobby Kenneth Moody of Lake View, and Ms. Mary Anne Moody of Fork. As a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the Medical University of South Carolina with a doctorate in pharmacy, he is employed with Wal-Mart as a market health and wellness director overseeing pharmacy and vision operations for the Coastal Region.
Leigh Elizabeth Newman served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Rachel Anne Mathias; Sarah Caroline Amick; Taylor Herlong Newell; Deanne Alicia Ricard, sister-in-law of the bride; Hamer Manning Titus, sister of the groom; Dallas Santana Gordon; Charity McManus Ard; Kristin Marchant Drafts; Christin Alyce Lovette; Alyson Marie Eagan; and Kelsey Tetanich Richmond. Flower girls were Delaney Jordan Ricard, niece of the bride, and Campbell Merrit Ard.
The groom’s father Houston Manning served as best man. Groomsmen were Jeremy David Yuhas; Austin Keith Newell; Robert Hamer Manning IV; Matthew Steven Ricard, brother of the bride; Robert Kyle Titus, brother-in-law of the groom; James Joshua Ard; David Steven Taylor; Ronald Tracy Carter Jr.; Shane David Skiles; Daniel Lyde Coleman; and William Kenneth Pittman III. Ring bearers were Abraham John Ricard, nephew of the bride, and Graham Finley Titus, nephew of the groom.
Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Clark Matthews, trumpeter Timothy Oswald, and soloist Nicholas Pizzuti.
The couple will reside in North Myrtle Beach following a January honeymoon in St. Lucia.
