Steve and Sandy Smoak celebrate 50th anniversary
Steve A. and Sandy Tant Smoak recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to the Hawaii island of Maui.
They were married Jan. 9, 1968, in Columbia. Their children are Sherry Smoak, Steve A. Smoak Jr., Scott M. Smoak, Sean M. Smoak, and Betty Owens Snipes.
They have seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Sandy and Steve grew up in Elmwood and Olympia.
Both have been members of Redemption Church of Columbia, where Sandy is an active member of the choir, since 2012.
Steve retired from FN America after 35 years of employment, and Sandy retired from the Lexington YMCA and substitute teaching for Lexington District 1 after 18 years of employment.
“Fifty years equals love of God and each other,” Steve writes.
