Kirk and Marcia Wood celebrate 50th anniversary

Walter “Kirk” and Marcia Wood of Lexington recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

After meeting at Frederick College in Portsmouth, Virginia, they were married Jan. 20, 1968, in Portsmouth.

Their children are Doug Wood of Columbia and Fran (Lee) Breeding of North Bonneville, Washington. They have two grandchildren, Ryan Wood and Jack Wood, both of Columbia.

The couple have lived in Blacksburg, Virginia; Augusta, Georgia; Columbia, where Kirk earned his Ph.D. at the University of South Carolina; and Montgomery, Alabama. They moved to Lexington after their retirement.

They plan a small anniversary celebration with friends and family.
