Hallie Willm, Brooks Biediger marry
Hallie Marie Willm and Michael Brooks Biediger, both of Columbia, were united in marriage at 6 o’clock in the evening Jan. 20 at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Columbia. The wedding was officiated by the Very Rev. Timothy K. Jones, dean of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, and the Rev. Msr. Richard D. Harris, V.G., pastor of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. A reception followed at the University of South Carolina Alumni Center.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Kevin Willm of Irmo. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Viola Crumpton Duncan of Mountain Rest and the late Mr. Harold Verner Duncan and Mrs. Joy Willm Collins of Surfside Beach and the late Mr. Robert Lee Willm Sr.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael James Biediger of Columbia. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles William Biediger of Greenville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Brooks Boney of Columbia.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, carried a piece of lace from her mother’s wedding gown around her bouquet. Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Bret te Velde. Ceremony readings were performed by Mrs. Teresa Biediger Bowers, sister of the groom, and Mr. S. Jahue “Jake” Moore. The signing of the marriage license was witnessed by the Honorable Frank Robert Addy Jr. and Ms. Sarah Ashley Assemany. Serving as the program and guest book attendant was Miss Catherine Lee Willm, cousin of the bride.
Ms. Sarah Ashley Assemany of Charleston and Ms. Constance Eleanor “Ellen” Smith of New York served as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Ms. Elizabeth Caroline Able of Laurens; Mrs. Amy Horton Ballard of Austin, Texas; Ms. Andrea Meredith Ross and Mrs. Anne Griffin Patterson Tafel, both of Columbia; and Ms. Courtney Marie Walls of New York. The flower girl was Miss Mary Brooks Bowers, niece and goddaughter of the groom.
Mr. Michael James Biediger, father of the groom, and Mr. Andrew Epting of Columbia served as best men. Groomsmen were Mr. David Neil Grantham Jr. of Florence; Mr. Gregory Mark Mancini of Columbia; Mr. William Andrew Postal of Georgetown; Mr. Ralph Nichols “Nick” Riley Jr. of West Columbia; and Mr. Robert Duncan Willm, brother of the bride, of Columbia. The ring bearer was Mr. Lucas Allston Postal, godson of the groom. Serving as ushers were Mr. Dan Chadwick Bowers, brother-in-law of the groom, Mr. Brett Harris Bayne, Mr. Thomas Edward Tafel, and Mr. Brandon Paul Jones, all of Columbia.
Hallie is a 2008 graduate of Chapin High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Wofford College in 2012. She graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2015. She is employed with the Eleventh Circuit Public Defender’s Office in Lexington as an attorney.
Brooks is a 2003 graduate of Cardinal Newman School and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina in 2006. He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2010. He is employed with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office in Columbia as an attorney.
Following their honeymoon to Europe, Hallie and Brooks will reside in Columbia.
