Amber Merfeld, Elliott Lopez to wed

Douglas James and Debra Sue Merfeld of Walford, Iowa, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Renee, to Elliott James Lopez, son of Thomas James and Pamela Erwin Lopez of Chapin.

The bride-elect, a resident of Greenville, earned a Bachelor of Science in exercise science and Master of Public Health in physical activity and public health from the University of South Carolina. She is employed with the Upstate region of the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control. She and the bridegroom-elect became engaged on the wedding anniversary of her late grandparents, Marvin and Janie Moles of Newton, Iowa.

The bridegroom-elect, a resident of Greenville, is the grandson of Thomas Lopez of Miami and Joan Erwin of Walnut Creek, California. After playing golf at the College of Charleston, he earned a Bachelor of Science in commerce and business administration from University of Alabama. He is employed with General Information Services.

The couple plans an October 2017 wedding in Columbia.
