Christine Nixon, Carsten Bryant marry

Christine Blair Nixon of Columbia and Carsten Aubrey Bryant of Lexington were united in marriage Aug. 6 at Mount Horeb United Methodist Church in Lexington. The Revs. Ed McDowell and Tom Wall officiated the 4 o’clock ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Allen Nixon of Columbia. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hall and Mrs. Vivian Nixon and the late Mr. George Nixon, all of Florence. She is a 2016 graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in music education.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Aubrey Alan Bryant. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Smithdeal of Bermuda Run, North Carolina; Mr. Herbert Bryant of Atoka, Oklahoma; and Ms. Sandra Bryant of Jacksonville, Florida. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in physics and a Bachelor of Arts in religious studies.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Lauren Nixon of Columbia. Bridesmaids were the groom’s sister, Bonnie Bryant of Lexington; Carson Dixon of Spartanburg; and JulieAnne Bennett, Afia Khan, Jacqueline Kim and Leigh Apan, all of Columbia. Harper Van Sligtenhorst and Alma Louise Aravena were flower girls.

Best man was the groom’s brother, Samuel Bryant of Lexington. Groomsmen were Peden Williams of Irmo; Adam Glenn of Myrtle Beach; McBryde Campbell of Anderson; and Wesley Andrews, Justin Garrison and Kolman McMurphy, all of Lexington. CJ Van Sligtenhorst was ring bearer.

The couple will reside in Columbia.
