David and June Herndon celebrate 60th anniversary

David and June Herndon of Chapin recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 18, 1956, in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Their children are Gina (Donnie) Slaughter, Pam (Billy) Smith, Amy Herndon and Kelly (Mike) Cooke. They have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

June Herndon enjoys working in the yard and shopping. David Herndon enjoys reading and playing golf. They both love spending time with family at Lake Murray and in North Myrtle Beach. They are members of Chapin Presbyterian Church.

The Herndons planned to celebrate their anniversary with a family dinner and a trip to the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.
