Jessica Howle, Ryan West to wed
Dewane and Hope Howle of Hartsville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Howle, to Ryan West, son of Gladys West and the late Dean West of Hartsville.
The bride-elect, a resident of Hartsville, is the granddaughter of Letha Barnhill and the late Cole L. Barnhill and Lewis R. Howle Sr. and the late Dorothy Howle, all of Hartsville. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in early childhood education from Coastal Carolina University, and she is employed as a teacher at Bishopville Primary School.
The bridegroom-elect, a resident of Hartsville, is the grandson of Larcie Cassidy and the late Milton West of Clinton, North Carolina, and the late Willie Horne and Mamie Shoemake Horne of Hartsville. He owns Dean’s Service Center in Hartsville.
The couple plans an October wedding in Hartsville.

Q: How did you meet?
A: The best friend of the bride met the groom when he worked on her car. The friend gave the groom her number and told him to call the bride. The groom then contacted the bride, and the relationship started from there.
Q: Tell us about the proposal.
A: The groom took the bride on a weekend trip to Savannah, Georgia. After missed chances to propose on Tybee Island, he popped the question in the hotel room.
